1) year 2017 5dy files were converted to 32bit using:
cdo -f nc -b F32 copy  soda3.3.2_5dy_ocean_reg_2017_12_29.nc soda3.3.2_5dy_ocean_reg_2017_12_29.ncbb

2) year 2017 monthly file was created using the following commands:
* merge data
cdo copy soda3.3.2_5dy_ocean_reg_2017_*  soda3.3.2_5dy_ocean_reg_2017.nc
* monthly average centered on day 15
cdo setday,15 -monmean soda3.3.2_5dy_ocean_reg_2017.nc  soda3.3.2_mn_ocean_reg_2017.nctmp
* eliminate the surface forcing fields that apparently Gena has deleted in some script
cdo delname,hflux_total,hflux_pme,evap_heat,swflx,lw_heat,sens_heat,salt_flux_rstr,salt_flux_total soda3.3.2_mn_ocean_reg_2017.nctmp soda3.3.2_mn_ocean_reg_2017.nc
